Hyatt’s Chuck Floyd to retire as Executive Vice President – Global President of Operations

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that H. Charles “Chuck” Floyd will be stepping down from his current position as Executive Vice President – Global President of Operations, effective December 31, 2023. Starting January 1, 2024, Floyd will transition to the role of Senior Advisor to Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt’s President and Chief Executive Officer, for a period of six months, ultimately retiring from Hyatt on June 30, 2024.

Mark Hoplamazian expressed profound pride and gratitude for Chuck Floyd’s remarkable career at Hyatt, spanning over four decades. Floyd’s legacy at Hyatt is described as legendary, marked by his steadfast dedication to the Hyatt family, successful and profitable operations, and the delivery of the distinctive Hyatt guest experience reflective of the company’s purpose of care.

Chuck Floyd embarked on his impressive career in 1981 as a Corporate Management Trainee, progressing through various front office and rooms positions in Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Monterey. His journey included roles such as General Manager at Hyatt Lisle in Illinois in 1989, followed by General Manager positions in Minneapolis and San Francisco. In 1997, Floyd transitioned to Hyatt’s corporate office in Chicago, where he took on Sales and Operations leadership roles, laying the foundation for a distinguished global operations career. In 2015, he assumed the role of Global President of Operations, overseeing Hyatt’s Global Operations Center (GOC) and operations across the Americas, EAME, and ASPAC regions.

Following Floyd’s transition, regional Group Presidents Pete Sears (Americas), David Udell (ASPAC), Javier Águila (EAME), and Chief Growth Officer Jim Chu will report directly to Mark Hoplamazian, effective January 1, 2024.
