A Seasoned Luxury Hotelier
Ammerstorfer brings over 30 years of global experience in the hospitality industry to his new role. An Austrian native, he previously served as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna, from 2020 to 2024. His distinguished career spans roles in prominent luxury hospitality brands, including Leading Hotels of the World, IHG, Park Plaza, Preferred Hotels, Hilton, Celebrity Cruises, Shangri-La, and Marriott Luxury Brands. Among his notable achievements is his tenure as General Manager at The London Edition, which further honed his expertise in delivering world-class guest experiences.
Graduating from the “Modul” Hotel Management School in Vienna and holding an MBA from Robert Kennedy College in Zurich, Ammerstorfer has cultivated a reputation as a strategic leader adept in destination marketing, revenue management, and operational excellence.

In his new role, Ammerstorfer will oversee the completion of the hotel’s renovations, aligning with Vienna’s cultural celebrations, including the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss II. His leadership will focus on blending Anantara’s signature modern luxury with the property’s historic charm. This transformation is expected to solidify the hotel’s position as a premier destination for luxury travelers.
